Shedding the Mortal Coil

A Community Journey into Death’s Wisdom through Ritual & the Healing Arts
Session One: Coming Down to Earth — Death Denial, Descent & the Body’s Wisdom

January 30 | 6:30–8:30 PM
Ripple Journeywork

This opening session of Shedding the Mortal Coil invites participants into a grounded, embodied exploration of death—not as an emergency or abstraction, but as a living teacher woven throughout our lives.

Through ritual, story, somatic practice, breath, toning, and council-style witnessing, we gently turn toward themes often held at a distance: mortality, grief, descent, and the body’s innate wisdom at thresholds. This session lays the foundation for the full series by helping participants soften out of death denial and into presence, relationship, and embodied listening.

Drawing on mythic storytelling (including the descent of Inanna), ancestral grief teachings, and nervous-system-aware somatic practices, this gathering supports participants in feeling their bodies as allies and grief as a form of belonging rather than something to fix.

This is community-rooted work.
There is no monetary exchange requested.
Participants are invited to arrive with respect, curiosity, and care for the shared field.
